Design for Churches
Churches and parachurch organizations have special considerations for design, future content management, and pricing. I specialize in designing for Christian ministry. I can work with you in prayer-led, Christ-centered discernment. I’ll focus design on communicating your mission, values and vision. The final product will be tailored for your staff and volunteers to maintain.
I offer a 25% discount on my usual service charges. That means a $30 rate for hourly services. Contact me for an estimate on web design.
For Visitors
With few exceptions, a church website’s first priority is informing and attracting visitors. We’ll discuss what makes your church unique and exactly who would be best served by your ministries. Some key features to consider are:
- Frequent use of images showing congregational life and mission
- An easy-to-use, easy-to-update calendar of events
- Online maps and interactive directions
- Downloadable and streaming content, such as audio, video or printables
- Intuitive navigation and usability based on current research
- Search-engine optimization (SEO) to make your site easy to find
- Highly visible ways visitors can enter congregational life and get connected
For Members
Member needs from church websites vary widely. We’ll review congregational needs and evaluate what tools will be useful. Some key features here are:
- Online community options, such as forums or leader blogs
- Web tools for small group and ministry leaders to track involvement and results
- Syndication options such as email newsletters and RSS feeds
- Online contribution and volunteer sign-up
- Membership directory options
For Staff and Volunteers
Each church has different resources in terms of available time and skills. We’ll go over how much your church will be able to devote to maintaining your website. We’ll prioritize features and discuss thoroughly how much input will be required once the site is live. I can suit the upkeep to your abilities, and provide room for future expansion. Some key features to discuss are:
- Content Management System (CMS) options
- Statistics tracking and how to measure goals and results
- Online advertising options, such as Google AdWords.
- Administrative and community upkeep, such as blogs, forums or user feedback
- Tools for adding images, links and downloadable resources
