Web Design
I have three basic goals in design:
- to target all design decisions toward your goals;
- to create an intuitive experience for visitors;
- and to reflect your identity and values.
To these ends, I will work closely with you to identify specifically what your website needs to accomplish. I’ll also seek to understand who you are, your priorities, and what you offer visitors.
I stay up to date on current usability research to ensure the most practical layout, and constantly watch design trends to expand my ability to express your identity. I also research my client’s industry to understand their business, audience or customer base, and expectations.
Technical Stuff
For start-to-finish web design, you’ll get:
- Help finding a domain and web hosting.
- A Photoshop mockup of the site for approval before coding.
- An open-source content management system (CMS), usually WordPress.
- Search-engine optimization (SEO).
- Help setting up emails.
- Statistics tracking, usually with Google Analytics.
- Custom walkthrough videos for updating your website.
- Help when you need it, during and after the project.
Cost
You can contact me for a free estimate. I base my estimates on a $40-per-hour rate. Most sites take around 60 hours ($2,400) to complete, but there’s huge variances depending on your specific needs. A simple site could be as little as $1,000. Church and parachurch organizations get a 25% discount.
Consulting
I’m experienced in not only web design and coding, but also marketing, web usage trends, and graphic design. I also excel at explaining technical issues in plain English. You can contract me on an hourly basis to discuss internet strategies, design decisions, maximizing your web presence, and plenty of other topics.
Cost
The cost is my usual rate of $40 per hour. Church and parachurch organizations get a 25% discount.
Support
Sometimes a website doesn’t need a redesign, just a little help. I can fix errors, add features, or other smaller services to repair or improve an existing website or provide other technical support.
I’m also available to teach skills to invidivuals or groups. I can provide a series of videos or schedule in-person sessions. To maximize my time and your money, we should discuss specific goals you want accomplished. This will inform what exactly I’ll need to review, and how much time we can expect it to take.
Cost
For one-time projects like repairs or upgrades, contact me for an estimate. Most small projects can be completed in just a few days. As usual, I base my estimates on my $40-an-hour rate. I’m sometimes available for ongoing support, such as long-term training programs or webmastering. My availability depends on what other projects I’m working on. I usually recommend sticking to an hourly rate for long-term contracts.
