Presbyterian Hurricane Ike Recovery
The Presbytery of New Covenant in east Texas needed a website to support their Hurricane Ike disaster recovery mission. The core goal was to recruit volunteer work teams from around the country. The client was very open-ended about design requirements.
The final design prominently features images of real volunteer teams doing real work, and emphasizes the positive outcomes of the mission over guilt-based motivations. The site is extremely simple, and therefore both easy to navigate and maintain. Most of the site’s look is very minimal and clean using bold text colors, with subtle plaster textures to add interest.
Copy for the site was collaborative with a Presbyterian Disaster Assistance marketing staffperson.
